Description:
Generally when saving a file some additional information about the file is saved. This data is usually stored in the file you are saving. This data is called “Metadata.” It stores important information like the creator, what subject and keywords apply, and what general topics apply. Many enterprise applications like Plumtree use this extra data for generating rich document repositories, making quality metadata important. Most applications don’t enforce metadata entry sensibly. The result is many employees simply accept default values for the metadata. This means your network could have thousands of documents which are hard to find inside the document repositories of enterprise applications. The solution for this is MetaEdit. It scans your files, extracting any metadata present. Data is entered into a database where work can be done with efficient data editing tools. Once complete, the revised data can be put back into individual files, ready for import to enterprise applications.
